MN: Milan ready to double midfielder’s salary with four-year extension on the table – the latest

AC Milan are working on the renewal of Franck Kessie’s contract amid some interest from Premier League clubs, according to a report.

As MilanNews writes, Kessie is probably the player who has improved the most since joining Milan as the Ivorian has lived through complicated seasons, but for a year now he has made the leap in quality that leads him to be a modern, complete and decisive midfielder for the Rossoneri.

He has nine goals this season so far including eight from the penalty spot and his team-mates, together with Ibrahimovic, regard him as a leader and one of the players who helps those in difficulty the most.

Back in December Milan established the first contacts with Kessie’s agent George Atangana to extend his contract – which is currently set to expire in June 2022. The idea is to lock him up until 2026 with a doubled salary, which is money that Milan would gladly spend on an player of absolute value like Kessie. Maldini and Massara have been working for some time, but they are aware that the big Premier League teams have always liked Franck and at any moment they could knock on his agent’s door.

Despite that interest, Kessie is happy at Milan and has no intention of changing clubs and therefore his priority is an extension with a salary increase.
