MN: Milan ready to reward key defender with four-year extension and pay rise

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are looking to resolve the future of Davide Calabria by agreeing a long-term contract extension with him, a report claims.

Calabria is certainly a contender for the most improved player from the 2020-21 season as he put a difficult campaign behind him to recover his best form and make the starting right-back spot very much his own.

Given that his contract expires in June 2022, there has been an abundance of speculation that the management will sit down with Calabria’s entourage in order to try and agree a renewal ahead of time, and that seems like being the case.

MilanNews writes that the Rossoneri plan to meet with Calabria’s agents and discuss a contract extension soon at Casa Milan. The current plan is to extend his deal by four years – therefore a contract running until 2026 – with a pay rise to around €2m net per season that has been well earned.
