MN: Milan should have no problems with Kessie’s renewal – money not his main motivation

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan should have no problems sorting the renewal of midfielder Franck Kessie after his public declarations, according to a report.

MilanNews takes stock of the future of Kessie and recalls the words of the Ivorian yesterday in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport were: “Milan fans, rest assured, there will be no problems for the renewal. I always keep my word.”

These were reassuring words which leave little doubt about the future of Kessie, who is currently with his national team at the Olympics held in Tokyo. Kessie feels like a Rossoneri player and wants to stay at Milan over the next few years.

The approach to these renewal talks are much more relaxed as per the report unlike what happened with Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu. He will get a pay rise, but the priority of Kessie will not be money, but staying at Milan where he is a leader and feels valued.

Together with Ismael Bennacer, Kessie forms a dam in front of the defence as they combine physical strength, technique, running, good vision of the game and the ability to start attacks.

A meeting with his agent should happen this week, but the decisive summit between Kessie and the management is set as soon as the midfielder returns to Italy, that is in about a couple of weeks.
