MN: Milan still keen on €20m Chelsea midfield powerhouse but will play waiting game

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have retained an interest in the idea of bringing Tiemoue Bakayoko back from Chelsea ahead of next season, a report claims.

The Rossoneri have been repeatedly linked with an attempt to seal a reunion with Bakayoko after his successful loan spell at the club under Gennaro Gattuso in the 2018-19 season.

Now, MilanNews are reporting how Milan have a couple of midfield options in mind ahead of the upcoming transfer window, with Bakayoko one and the other being Benfica’s Florentino Luis.

The Rossoneri could return for the Frenchman if he were to become available at an “affordable” price. After playing for Monaco last season, he returned to Chelsea but will not stay there.

Milan will still wait to present an offer until the end of the window, in order to have more advantageous conditions economically as the London club are currently demanding at least €20m.

The Frenchman’s characteristics are the right ones, and the name of Bakayoko ‘still resounds loudly in the corridors of Casa Milan’, the report adds. He remains a target for the midfield if the economic conditions allow it.
