MN: Milan trio will not have to undergo quarantine upon return from AFCON

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been informed that players returning from the African Cup of Nations will not have to undergo the standard quarantine period, a report claims.

As historic and as entertaining as AFCON is, it has certainly been a bit of a nuisance to the plans of head coach Stefano Pioli as he has been without midfield duo Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie since the start of the year, while back-up left-back Fode Ballo-Toure is also there representing Senegal.

According to what is being reported by MilanNews regarding the provisions for the return to Italy of the players currently involved in the African Cup of Nations, a quarantine period is not currently envisaged for these players meaning they can return to training with a negative test.

However, a more rigid monitoring process will be used as per the agreements made between the health, government and footballing authorities, which probably means more regular testing.
