MN: The list of unavailable players for Milan in view of Rennes clash

By Oliver Fisher -

The general feeling is that AC Milan’s injury situation this season has been a case of battling against a high tide, and there will be several key absentees tomorrow against Stade Rennais as well.

As MilanNews writes, the squad took to the field at Milanello for the final training session on the eve of the Europa League play-off round first leg game against Rennes at San Siro, which kicks off at 21:00 CET.

Head coach Stefano Pioli will not be able to count on several players for tomorrow’s match, starting with the well-known long-term absentees Fikayo Tomori, Pierre Kalulu and Tommaso Pobega.

The captain Davide Calabria has also been added to this list, having come off due to an adductor injury sustained during the match against Napoli on Sunday.

Antonio Mirante was also absent from the final training session today meaning that he will not be available for the game, which is why Lapo Nava worked with the senior team.

Among the injured players, Kalulu worked separately on the field while Tomori – along with the Primavera captain Kevin Zeroli – carried out individual work in the gym.

Simon Kjaer did part of the session with the rest of the squad, which means the only doubts for Pioli in terms of selection are in defence.

  1. I know Simic was not eligible to be on the List B youth list. But was it possible for him to have replaced someone long term injured on the List A list like Kalulu?
We are really short on CBs for these two games in quick succession.
