MN: Milan’s confidence unruffled as important October awaits Tatarusanu

By Isak Möller -

Ciprian Tatarusanu will be the starting goalkeeper for AC Milan for most of October as Mike Maignan is currently recovering from an injury. While some of the fans are worried, the same cannot be said about the Rossoneri staff.

The absence of Maignan is obviously a blow for Milan, given his quality between the sticks and especially his ability to play out from the back. Tatarusanu, however, has proven before that he can do a good job with replacing the Frenchman.

As highlighted by MilanNews, the countdown has begun for the veteran as we will head into October on Saturday, the day for Empoli-Milan. Tatarusanu will be the starting goalkeeper from that game until at least the Monza clash, by the looks of it.

He’s the undisputed second choice and just like a year ago, he will be thrown into the action due to a Maignan injury. Antonio Mirante was never really considered as Milan have full confidence in Tatarusanu’s abilities and the training this week has focused on getting him ready, per the report.

Even if Milan have a lot of faith in their backup, a good first game will be needed to shut down some of the concerning voices from the fans.
