AC Milan are continuing to monitor Red Bull Salzburg star Dominik Szoboszlai as they consider potential replacements for Hakan Calhanoglu, a report claims.
As Andrea Longoni writes in his latest for MilanNews, the renewal saga has made Calhanoglu very unpopular in the eyes of some Milan fans, and while before there might have been panic regarding the idea of losing him for free, now it feels like more attention is being paid to possible replacements.
It is clear that his exit would be a sin for everyone, including the player, but it is no mystery that the management are following Dominik Szoboszlai with great interest.
The Hungary international was monitored over the summer but not everyone was in favour of investing the €25m needed as some at the club still considered the player to be not quite ready.
However, what he has done since with his national team and above all with his club also in the Champions League made everyone agree. The problem is competition, but Milan’s youth project could represent the right destination for him.
