MN: Milan will only have 15 active players from UEFA squad list to face Chelsea

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s win against Empoli on Saturday night came at a cost as they lost yet more players due to injury ahead of the double header against Chelsea either side of the Juventus game.

MilanNews report that Stefano Pioli has seen his plans complicated by three more injuries as Alexis Saelemaekers is out with a partial injury to the medial collateral ligament, while Davide Calabria and Simon Kjaer will undergo examinations to understand the extent of their problems.

The trio must be added to the list of long-term absentees Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Alessandro Florenzi and Mike Maignan.  Theo Hernandez and Junior Messias will not be available, while Malick Thiaw, Aster Vranckx, Yacine Adli and Tiemoue Bakayoko are not in the UEFA squad list. Pioli, therefore, will only be able to count on 15 active players.

Goalkeepers: Tatarusanu, Mirante
Defenders: Kalulu, Tomori, Dest, Ballo-Touré, Gabbia
Midfielders: Tonali, Bennacer, Pobega, Krunic
Forwards: Giroud, De Ketelaere, Leao, Brahim Diaz, Rebic, Origi (?)
