MN: Milan’s attacking midfielder shortlist down to two names – why the management like each

By Oliver Fisher -

There are now only two names left on AC Milan’s shortlist of targets for the attacking midfield position, according to a report.

According to the latest from the MilanNews podcast, the names on the Rossoneri’s list for the attacking midfielder position is down to just two: Nikola Vlasic of CSKA Moscow and Isco of Real Madrid. They are two different profiles in terms of their qualities, their age and their characteristics, but both would be very welcome additions for the management, including Stefano Pioli.

Isco has a contract expiring in 2022 and could leave for this reason, even if Carlo Ancelotti has given him a look in preseason. He is admired because can play as a No.10, a mezzala or as a winger if needed, but it will not be an easy deal.

Vlasic on the other hand is a rising star at the age of 23, and Milan have been after him all summer but CSKA Moscow have always made it clear they want a lot of money from his sale. However, their economic situation and the player’s desire to move to Italy and play in the Champions League could open some doors in the next few days.
