MN: Milan’s probable XI for Cremonese clash – five changes from Roma

AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli is expected to make a number of changes for the game against Cremonese tomorrow compared to the team which drew with Roma.

That is according to MilanNews, who report that Mike Maignan should still be in goal with Davide Calabria and Theo Hernandez as the full-backs. However, Pierre Kalulu and Malick Thiaw should be the centre-backs with Fikayo Tomori suspended and Simon Kjaer rested.

In midfield there should be an opportunity for Aster Vranckx alongside one of either Sandro Tonali or Rade Krunic. Brahim Diaz should be replaced by Alexis Saelemaekers, with Ismael Bennacer as the playmaker and Rafael Leao on the left.

One of either Ante Rebic or Divock Origi should lead the line, which would give Olivier Giroud the chance to rest.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw, Kalulu, Theo; Vranckx, Tonali; Saelemaekers, Bennacer, Leao; Origi.

Suspended: Tomori.
Out: Ibrahimovic, Pobega.
Warning: Kjaer, Kalulu, Thiaw, Rebic, Pobega.

  1. I understand the reason why we should shuffle, but looking at the past results where we shuffled and how important this match is for us, i disagree with Pioli on this.

    1. What’s your disagreement on this? What exactly?
Vranckx is replacing suspended Krunic, Kjaer is a yellow card away from getting suspended for lazio match, Thiaw is in for suspended Tomori, Saelemaekers is in for Diaz is that a bad idea? Origi is in for Giroud who deservedly needs a rest. So where is Pioli wrong? Point out 1 place where Pioli is wrong.

      1. Looking at this probable line up, there’s no heavy rotation at all.
It’s better Kjaer sits out this match instead of playing and picking up a likely yellow card and then miss the lazio match, instead let him play the lazio match and pick up the yellow card there and miss the match against Spezia.

  2. I am a little concerned with the rotation ,but given the situation especially with the semi finals coming up , it’s difficult not to do so ….only thing that I would say is it’s a real gamble making so many changes in one go .
Yes we should beat cremonese ..perhaps start with a strong 11 then make gradual changes when we are winning by two or three clear goals ..that said we will need our best players injury free for the games against inter ..pioli is a great manager .
I would not start Origi up front …he has got pace ,but no real strength or control on the ball …just my thoughts…
