MN: Milan’s worrying precedent in games played on April 2

AC Milan will play the 17th game in their history on the date April 2 when they face off against Napoli, and the precedents are quite worrying.

The international break has come to an end and Milan will kick back off with the first of three meetings against Napoli inside the space of 16 days, with a two-legged affair in the quarter-finals of the Champions League to follow.

While the Partenopei are 23 points ahead in the Serie A standings and will be big favourites for each of the three games coming up, Stefano Pioli’s men did emerge victorious at the Maradona last season thanks to Olivier Giroud’s goal.

As reported by MilanNews, Rossoneri will play for the 17th time in their history on 2 April and their record is five wins, five draws and six defeats. The last game on this date was back in 2019, when Milan drew 1-1 against Udinese at the San Siro as Krzysztof Piatek scored in the first half and Kevin Lasagna equalised in the second half.
