MN: Musah in doubt for Sassuolo game as recovery time lengthens

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s treatment room is a revolving door at the moment, and Yunus Musah is one of the latest to have come down with a muscle injury.

Musah, according to MilanNews, suffered a muscle strain after the match against Newcastle United in the Champions League which then forced him to miss the following match against Monza and the draw against Salernitana.

In what is becoming a worrying trend, what was initially meant to be a minor problem has turned into something with a longer recovery time. Yesterday, the USA international did train on the field but he did so individually rather than with the rest of the squad.

For this reason, Musah’s presence for the game against Sassuolo on Saturday remains in doubt. In the next three training sessions the staff will be able to evaluate his conditions more precisely and understand whether he will be able to be called up by coach Stefano Pioli.

In the event he misses the game, it will be up to Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Tijjani Reijnders and Ismael Bennacer to carry the midfield again. Rade Krunic and Yacine Adli seem to have slipped down the pecking order, while Tommaso Pobega will be out for a few months.
