AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli may have to bear in mind the international commitments of some of his players when he chooses a starting eleven against Fiorentina on Saturday.
According to Milan News, the coach will have to evaluate the players who have been involved in international fixtures and decide if they are fresh enough to start against La Viola.
For example, Christian Pulisic returned from the United States of America today which is a long journey, so they will not want to run the risk of overworking him. That means there could be a start for Samuel Chukwueze who is the other option on the right wing.
Tijjani Reijnders comes back tomorrow from playing two matches for the Netherlands, so he will need to be given some special attention before it is decided whether he can start or not, with Yacine Adli and Ismael Bennacer both searching for minutes.
It is expected that Davide Calabria and Alessandro Florenzi will be the full-backs, with Theo Hernandez suspended.
In the middle of defence, it will almost certainly be Fikayo Tomori and Matteo Gabbia as they are the fittest options right now. Rafael Leao, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Olivier Giroud are expected to form three parts of the usual front four in a 4-2-3-1 formation.
Hopefully Chukwueze still carries the momentum from his first Serie A goal even after the break
Pulisic last played for the USMNT on Sunday night. He’s arriving in Milan on Wednesday. He should be over his jet lag and fine to play Saturday evening.
He played 150 minutes in the international window, he needs a rest! Maybe off the bench if needed, like against Monza.
Sorry 210 minutes haha
I think it would be a good idea to start Chuk alongside Oli and Leao. Then sub in Ok4 and Puli in the second half.
As for midfield, Reijnders/RLC/Adli
I agree with everything except Reijnders. Let Bennacer start this one, instead of him, unless he’s not physically 100%. In that case roll with Reijnders. We have a huge stretch of games coming up through the end of April and players need to be managed carefully.
Bennacer hasn’t looked 100% for a while now. But sure what the deal is.
Yh and finally chuk can get the chance to play with a good frontline.Earlier he always gets subbed on with 10 mins left with jovic and oka4
Fake drama. Pulisic is one of Milan’s best, consistent players. He will start unless injured. Don’t know why some always hope to pump up Chukwueze. He’s gotta earn it; like Pulisic did. And from the bench. One league goal ain’t gonna do it.
I stand corrected. Apparently, money talks…
The ONE FOOTED WONDER does not have what it takes to succeed !!
Fiorentina will be a real test prior to Roma (they drew with Roma 2-2 two weeks ago). If we can win, it would give us a nice confidence boost, though Fiorentina away games have always been hard
Seems like the perfect time to give Pulisic a rest and give Chuk a run with a strong team around him.
