AC Milan have pulled off a ‘masterpiece’ with the sale of Lucas Paqueta, according to MilanNews reporter Anto Vitiello.
In his latest editorial which takes stock of the Milan market, Vitiello reports how the Rossoneri management have worked well on this operation, obtaining €21million from Lyon plus a percentage on the future resale for a player on the sidelines of the project and who in 44 appearances and has scored only one goal.
The situation as a whole is a real shame, because Paquetà had all the credentials to do well, but the Brazilian stopped showing his capabilities after his first three months with the Rossoneri under Gennaro Gattuso.
It was partly due to tactical problems (it was never worked out where to play him), partly due to character issues (MilanNews believe that the boy has suffered a lot from the pressure), and in the end there was no way to recover it.
At Milanello he was training badly because he already had his mind elsewhere, and he expected nothing more than to to leave. So, with all that considered, receiving €21m in guaranteed cash is exceptional work.
