MN: Probable Milan XI to face Dinamo Zagreb – no Dest or Brahim Diaz

By Oliver Fisher -

More news continues to filter on the likely startling line-up that Stefano Pioli will field on the eve of AC Milan’s Champions League group stage game against Dinamo Zagreb.

Pioli will have his hands pretty much tied in terms of the attacking department due to the fact that Divock Origi and Ante Rebic are both out injured while Yacine Adli was not named in the squad list.

According to the latest news from MilanNews, Milan should field what is now the first choice defence of Davide Calabria, Pierre Kalulu, Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez in front of Mike Maignan.

Rather unsurprisingly they will be shielded by the double pivot of Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer. Alexis Saelemaekers and Rafael Leao should keep their place on the flanks, with the Belgian having netted the equaliser in Salzburg last week.

There were rumours about Brahim Diaz starting but Charles De Ketelaere is tipped to get the nod to be the playmaker behind Olivier Giroud, who will work overtime due to the aforementioned absences.

Probable Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Calabria, Kalulu, Tomori, Theo; Tonali, Bennacer; Saelemaekers, De Ketelaere, Leao; Giroud.

  1. Giroud should rest napoli is way more important cdk can try to play instead of giroud..
What the point of dest and diaz/adli if they cant start in the next match?

    1. Honestly do you think Pioli is real coach? Here a simple prove. In Milan vs Sampdoria, leao got his first yellow card. Pioli himself said he was about leao could get his 2nd card so can you explain why pioli didn’t pull leao out? Result. Playing with 10 players and luckily won by penalty. Now do you call this guy is a coach that can read a his game? Hell no

      1. Result winning 1-0 with 10 players, changed the formation and survived the onslaught for 52 minutes. The club position got better in every season from 6 place to 2nd to the Serie A champion.
I am glad Pioli is the mastermind and truly a great coach.

  2. “napoli is way more important”???

@V — this is the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE. This match is VERY important. In some ways because there are only 6 group stage matches (and we already dropped 2 points in first match — not saying a draw at Salzburg is a terrible result; I actually think it’s fine) — but I think we really need to win at home tomorrow. Even if we lose or draw to Napoli, the Serie A season is 38 matches long, we can still make it up.

Both of our next two matches are critical; so I very strongly disagree with you that “napoli is way more important”

Champions League is the best of the best; we have the 2nd most titles of all time; the payouts are huge and that is where we can expand our brand and get back to being on top of Europe.

  3. This line up makes no sense, what’s the need of this, so are we going to make the changes against Napoli? Well may be there will be an early sub
