There are just over 24 hours left until AC Milan open their 2023-24 season with a trip to face Bologna at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.
According to what is being reported by MilanNews, Stefano Pioli will field an attacking trio formed of Christian Pulisic on the right wing, Rafael Leao on the opposite flank and Olivier Giroud as the centre-forward.
The three in midfield will be Rade Krunic operating at the base with Ruben Loftus-Cheek to his right and Tijjani Reijnders to his left.
Mike Maignan will be between the posts with Malick Thiaw and Fikayo Tomori the centre-backs and Theo Hernandez as the left-back.
The only doubt was right-back, given Davide Calabria had a period out between July and August due to a muscle problem. Initially, it was thought that Pierre Kalulu could take the field, but the captain is on pole for a starting spot.
Probable Milan XI (4-3-3): Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Loftus-Cheek, Krunic, Reijnders; Pulisic, Giroud, Leao.
Bench: Sportiello, Mirante, Florenzi, Calabria, Kjaer, Simic, Adli, Pobega, Zeroli, Chukwueze, Okafor, Luka Romero, Saelemaekers, Colombo, Chaka Traore.

One of the things going for us this season is Pioli’s slowness to introduce new players….
3 new players in the starting line up isn’t too bad. I’m reasonably confident ahead of the game but an early goal will probably be key.
I think better 4231, where Leao get more incisive. And Pulisic will be better to as AM.
433 seems just not get in to Pioli system.
But, Pioli knows better, he is the coach.
Just hope, he will bring Milan dominating again this season. But, if not, time to look another coach for me
He doesn’t know better 😆😆😆 but even so we know even less.. still bangin my head to the wall when I look upon his choices though. I somehow believe we could be much much better in the hand of the right coach.
We have no one for the 2man pivot. Bennacer is injured, Krunic is not that good enough there, especially with Loftus being a box-to-box. We will probably use 4231 more when Bennacer is back from injury.
If PIOLO use 4-3-3, Bologna will easily beat us

Write this man off at your peril..
If he can stay fit with the players he has around him
He can rack up a load of goals ..
It will take the team a while to settle with all the new additions to the team ,but we will settle ,and we can challenge for honours again this season .
Our manager is excellent…don’t write pioli off either .
You all have short memories..yes ! Two seasons ago we won the scuddeto…You were all writing us off then .I said publicly that when we signed Olivier Giroud that we could win the scuddeto,which we did !
We also ,just last season against all the odds reached the champions leauge final ..
Just tell me why we can’t achieve similar this season ,with a new squad ,and indeed a better team now.!
