MN: Probable Milan XI to take on Nice – Giroud and Maignan could play

After beating Pro Sesto and Modena comfortably, Milan will begin what is considered the tougher part of their pre-season tour tomorrow. They will take on Nice away from home and we could see two debuts.

According to MilanNews, Mike Maignan has good chances of playing from the first minute tomorrow after training with the team since Tuesday. Olivier Giroud is in the same boat but he isn’t expected to start, but rather come off the bench.

Other than that, Stefano Pioli is expected to confirm the starting eleven that faced Modena last weekend. This means that the backline should consist of Matteo Gabbia, Fikayo Tomori, Alessio Romagnoli and Theo Hernandez.

There is a slight chance that Davide Calabria starts on the right, but he has just recovered from injury so that’s uncertain. In the midfield, with Franck Kessie away on international duty, Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer should team up in the tandem.

Up front, Rafael Leao should start and he will be supported by a trio of Alexis Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz and Rade Krunic. A good starting eleven for the Rossoneri, in other words, who will want to start with a win.

Likely Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Gabbia (Calabria), Tomori, Romagnoli, Hernandez; Bennacer, Tonali; Saelemaekers, Diaz, Krunic; Leao.
