MN: Probable Milan XI to take on Nice – Giroud and Maignan could play

By Isak Möller -

After beating Pro Sesto and Modena comfortably, Milan will begin what is considered the tougher part of their pre-season tour tomorrow. They will take on Nice away from home and we could see two debuts.

According to MilanNews, Mike Maignan has good chances of playing from the first minute tomorrow after training with the team since Tuesday. Olivier Giroud is in the same boat but he isn’t expected to start, but rather come off the bench.

Other than that, Stefano Pioli is expected to confirm the starting eleven that faced Modena last weekend. This means that the backline should consist of Matteo Gabbia, Fikayo Tomori, Alessio Romagnoli and Theo Hernandez.

There is a slight chance that Davide Calabria starts on the right, but he has just recovered from injury so that’s uncertain. In the midfield, with Franck Kessie away on international duty, Sandro Tonali and Ismael Bennacer should team up in the tandem.

Up front, Rafael Leao should start and he will be supported by a trio of Alexis Saelemaekers, Brahim Diaz and Rade Krunic. A good starting eleven for the Rossoneri, in other words, who will want to start with a win.

Likely Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Gabbia (Calabria), Tomori, Romagnoli, Hernandez; Bennacer, Tonali; Saelemaekers, Diaz, Krunic; Leao.

  1. Pioli should try Hauge more this preseason to see how he could develop and mature into a player that will worth over €100m in the coming years

    1. Don’t know why the coach so much dislike the player. I have confidence in the player but the coach is going to kill the talent the lad has. Pioli should pls this a chance and Milan should never think of selling him now I beg them.

    2. It has been confirmed that pioli doesn’t want Hauge in the team, he feels the lad isn’t the type of player he needs, hence the reason why he wouldn’t play him.

The only solution there is now, is to sell him for capital gain

  2. Bruv this is to you and EVERY one else out there – Hauge lacks so much when it comes to this top league! He is not ready for a team like Milan. Have you ever watched him play….He has about 10% Impact thats when he gets the ball which he lacks so much due to positioning

  3. I don’t know why Milan are no listen us about gauge all Milan fan are love him and Milan are won’t to sell him why?

  4. The coach job is to win matches qualify for CL and good finishing in the league….not using a player becos Milan fans like that player….if the coach uses hauge frequently and looses out on CL qualification will we praise the coach?
