MN: PSV friendly an opportunity for Kalulu and Tomori to gel amid question marks

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan will play PSV Eindhoven in their final winter friendly tomorrow evening and Stefano Pioli will be able to field a strong XI. In the centre of it, at the back, Pierre Kalulu and Fikayo Tomori will partner up.

The two were the undisputed starters during Milan’s ‘Scudetto run’ last season and really showed what they are capable of then. As highlighted by MilanNews, though, the feeling is that there have been some cracks in the system this season.

While Milan have conceded fewer goals this season than at the same point last season, it’s also true that the defence has been less balanced this campaign. Furthermore, the Rossoneri’s amazing defensive run was at the end of last season, and not at the start of it (hence conceding more last season).

The PSV Eindhoven friendly, as such, will be a good opportunity for Kalulu and Tomori to gel further and find their groove again. Simon Kjaer, having returned to team training, will be ready to step in if needed.
