Christian Pulisic is struggling with muscle fatigue and AC Milan are hoping to recover him for the game against Girona on Wednesday. According to a report, he worked individually at Milanello today as well.
It was in the game against Como that Pulisic was forced to leave early, immediately signalling for a substitution following a challenge. Scans later revealed no muscle lesions or tears, but the winger is struggling with fatigue and Milan don’t want to risk him.
According to Antonio Vitiello this afternoon, Pulisic continued his individual recovery during today’s training session at Milanello. Those who started yesterday’s game worked separately in the gym to recover, while the rest were out on the pitch as normal.
It should be noted that Alex Jimenez, who is one of the deputies for Pulisic on the right flank, isn’t on the Champions League squad list. This means that he won’t be available against Girona and you could definitely say that Sergio Conceicao has a very stretched squad.
As seen against Juventus last night, Pulisic is incredibly important for this team and having him back on Wednesday would be a huge boost. Not to mention that Milan need to win to keep the top 8 hopes alive.
Remember the days when teams played once a week, and twice (occasionally) if they were in Europe?
Nope. That twice occasionally was more like twice regularly if you’re in a big club. We had a game every 3 days back in Kaka days between the league and UCL. The issue is the friendlies which used to be just to relax and gloat in being picked for your country as one of the best players at the time. Somewhere along the line someone thought the “meaningless” friendlies needed more meaning and so they’re now playing competitive football on their “break”. So instead of 30-40 competitive games and friendlies it’s now 50+ competitive games and no down time.
Unless you were talking about the 90s or something then yea sure
yea, but many clubs have to deal with a packed schedule. We can’t blame that for our form.
But we can blame the lack of depth and poor spending by the management in failing to properly reinforce this team thus far as we’re progressively getting worse.
Poor spending is a tough one. Many believed that Chukweuze was going to be the starter and Pulisic his relief. We were excited for Okafor and Jovic. CDK could not find his place with Milan, but how good would the right side of our attack look with him and Puli?
My opinion on the player loss that has hurt the most is Giroud. The entire team responded to his spirit. It was time for him to move on, but his leadership and inspiration is what is missed most with the team.
Completely agree!! I don’t understand why it is not spoken about more in these comments, but like you said Giroud’s aerial ability, his clinical finishing, and his leadership are all gone. The one thing Giroud didn’t have was a good press (he was too slow) so they get a striker that has the good press and none of the other qualities smh! It’s a shame Tammy seems very awkward when doing anything other than a flick with his head. Morata is ok at scoring from a header, but lately has been bad yet he is still way better than Tammy. If Milan still had Giroud I think they would be in top 4, he would have double the goals that Tammy and Morata have added together, maybe even triple because if I think they only have maybe 5 goals together
GIROUD’S DOMINANCE IN THE BOX WAS PARTLY DUE TO HIS PHYSICALITY. MORATA SPENDS MORE TIME ON THE DECK WHINING JNSTEAD OF SUCKING IT UP AND GIVING IT BACK. TAMMY TRIPS OVER HIS OWN FEET AND HURTS HIMSELF , AGAIN, SUCK IT UP AND START GIVING IT BACK !!! HAVE SOME PRIDE !!!! THE COACH CAN T GO ON THE FIELD AND KICK ASS FOR YOU…….
