MN: Rangnick’s will clear as attentions turns to €42m Chelsea man – player desperate for move

By Oliver Fisher -

Incoming AC Milan manager Ralf Rangnick has a clear idea in his mind about midfield reinforcements that would be welcome, a report claims.

According to MilanNews, a problem has been identified in that Milan struggle with fluidity and quickness of movement vertically, lacking that driving force to take attacks towards goal.

Rangnick therefore will scan the market in search of players with well-defined characteristics: physically strong and athletically dominant, players who are not afraid of fatigue and who can outperform the opponent in rhythm and intensity.

Tiémoué Bakayoko’s name therefore has arisen again. Yesterday, Monaco announced that they will not be using their €42m option to buy and as a result the Frenchman has returned to parent club Chelsea.

Frank Lampard however does not consider Bakayoko a key element for his project and therefore the 25-year-old is on the market. Milan are closely monitoring the situation, also because the player would return in a heartbeat.

The economic conditions will be very important, and Chelsea will have to be flexible in formula (loan with option or obligation to buy), while the player must take a pay cut from his current €6m-a-year.
