MN: Real Madrid loanee wants ‘to stay at Milan’ after impressing since his arrival

By Oliver Fisher -

Brahim Diaz appears happy at AC Milan and as things stand he could remain beyond his loan spell, according to one journalist.

The playmaker arrived from Real Madrid in the summer on a season-long dry loan and he has impressed so far, racking up three goals and one assist in 10 appearances across Serie A and the Europe League, with quite a few of those coming off the bench.

This has led to suggestions that Milan are already thinking about sitting at the negotiating table with Los Blancos to try and discuss a permanent deal for the 21-year-old, with mixed reports on whether they would be willing to sell.

In his latest editorial for MilanNews, Pietro Mazzara writes that Hakan Calhanoglu could well find himself on the bench if his performances are effected by the renewal saga currently surrounding him.

Mazzara adds that Pioli “has a very valid alternative in Brahim Diaz, who wants to do well and, from what emerges, also to stay at Milan”.
