There were a number of key reasons that AC Milan have decided to push ahead with the area of San Donato as the site for their new stadium project, a report claims.
After having shelved the project of the new San Siro together with Inter, Milan decided to move alone and eventually identified the San Francesco area in San Donato Milanese to build their new home.
MilanNews have outlined the four main reasons behind this, starting with the unique infrastructural hub that the area has. It has a railway connection, a metro stop nearby and is very close to motorways.
The second reason is that it is an urbanised area already (not green land that must get approval and/or be reconfigured) with a plan already approved to have a sports-related development on it, through SportLifeCity which the Rossoneri acquired.
Moreover, the third reason is that the land is currently an ‘urban void’ which makes it difficult to regenerate through other projects, and thus a plan like this might be the only way of turning the land into something of use.
Finally, the site has been likened to the Allianz Arena in Munich because it is a ‘gateway’ to the city, with great visibility from passing transport which helps with appeal to sponsors.
I think we definitely can aim for higher capacity than 70 000. That’s what our average attendance look like.
We should aim closer to 80 – 90 000.
When you have new stadium than you should have slightly more expensive price for the tickets.
In terms of price tickets than is very difficult to have all seated sold out, so 60 – 70 k spots is good enough number to have.
More capacity that means more money to build because of safety reason and high cost maintenance for later, they have calculated the risk and return and if im not mistaken there is article about that
They only want 2 tier , going for anything more that 70,000 it has to be 3 tier which would have been more better capital gain. but being a self own stadium 70,000 is okay
70,000 is not bad. Currently San Siro is only filling 72,000 seats. Not sure why that is but 6 section at San Siro are always tarped off. On either end.
I just hope they don’t place the curves too far from the pitch.
Because the seats at the middle of the 3rd tier of both curva are closed due to vibration issue. Few years ago the safe capacity was limited to 75000, now it is 72000. San Siro is deteriorating and getting unsafe.
For safety reason
