MN: Tonali trains separately at Milanello after sustaining knee problem

By Oliver Fisher -

There appears to be some doubts about whether Sandro Tonali will be available for the game against Cagliari at the weekend.

Pioli was without striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic for the game against Torino last night, as he is expected to be out for the season with a knee injury, as well as winger Alexis Saelemaekers who picked up a suspension in the game against Juve due to the accumulation of too many yellow cards.

However, Tonali was also not called up due to a blunt trauma to the knee left sustained in training at Milanello, as per MilanNews. In the latest update from the same source, they confirm that the Italy international is indeed struggling with a blunt trauma to his left knee sustained a few days ago in training.

He worked separately at Milanello today as well, thrusting doubt upon whether he will be available for the game on Sunday against Cagliari, a fixture that – if all goes to plan – could see Milan seal their Champions League return.
