MN: Two players train alone as confirmations arrive regarding selection choices vs. Genoa

By Oliver Fisher -

The latest updates have arrived from Milanello as the team resumed training today ahead of Sunday’s game against Genoa.

MilanNews confirms that there was a rest day granted yesterday by head coach Stefano Pioli to his team – one that was appreciated by the players – and this morning Milan resumed training at Milanello.

The only players who have done individual work and are still recovering from their respective injuries are Davide Calabria and Daniel Maldini, with the former recovering from minor knee surgery and the latter having had a serious muscle problem.

In view of Sunday’s match against Genoa, further confirmations have come from today’s session that Rafael Leao will lead the attack as the centre-forward with Alexis Saelemaekers, Hakan Calhanoglu and Ante Rebic behind him from left to right. From that, we can safely infer that Mario Mandzukic will begin the game from the bench and will probably get the nod as an impact sub.
