MN: Various teams interested in Calabria but work is under way for renewal with big pay rise

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are working on the extension of Davide Calabria’s contract, a report claims, and it will likely see him net a pay rise.

According to MilanNews, contacts with the representatives of the right-back have been going on for weeks, with the management aware that his contract is expiring in June 2022 and keen to avoid another Donnarumma/Calhanoglu situation.

The player currently receives €1.1m net per year, and the aim is to give him a pay rise after an excellent season so far which has seen an incredible resurgence. Calabria’s entourage want €2m net, but must negotiate with the club in order to reach an agreement.

The report adds how for Calabria there have been expressions of interest from various teams, both Italian and foreign, but the player is very close to Milan and is a fan of the club, something which means he has no intentions of going elsewhere.
