MN: Why Rangnick’s proposed move to Milan has fallen apart – Rossoneri changed offer

By Oliver Fisher -

What seemed like an absolute certainty has now vanished as Ralf Rangnick will no longer be arriving as AC Milan’s manager.

Kicker were the first to claim that after the streak of success in recent weeks, Stefano Pioli will continue as the head coach of the Rossoneri into next season and will in fact extent his contract.

As a result, Ralf Rangnick – currently employed as a football strategist at Red Bull – will not move to the 18-time Italian champions.

Now, MilanNews are reporting how the good results since the resumption of Serie A caused reflections on the position of head coach Stefano Pioli, so much so that in Rangnick – in the most recent contacts – was offered a position only as the technical director, with Pioli to stay on.

From this alteration to the proposed agreement everything fell apart, as Rangnick demanded being in charge of the coaching duties too as well as being the man in control of recruitment.
