MN: Young trio exemplifies why Milan were right to let go of Calhanoglu

Milan and Hakan Calhanoglu have parted ways after failing to reach an agreement on the contract renewal. Although it’s never nice to lose someone for free, especially to Inter, many would argue that it’s for the best.

At the end of the day, as highlighted by MilanNews, Calhanoglu’s true colours have been exposed in these last few weeks. Signing for the city rivals without any hesitation, simply turning the page, shows why he’s not Milan material.

Meanwhile, you have the likes of Brahim Diaz, Diogo Dalot and Fikayo Tomori who are all very eager to remain at Milan and impress. All three of them are proud to represent the historic club and wear the rossonero shirt.

Talent and quality remain very important aspects in football, but mentality is equally important. In other words, having players that are motivated to the cause (unlike Calhanoglu) can only help Milan in their journey.

It will be important for Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara to lock down the trio, with two to go after announcing the signing of Tomori from Chelsea.
