MN24: Maldini has an offer ready as Milan eye late swoop for Chelsea midfielder

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan remain interested in securing the return of Tiemoue Bakyoko and have an offer in mind, according to a report.

As per the latest from MilanNews24, Bakayoko has only Milan in his mind and is pushing to return to the club where he spent a successful spell on loan back in the 2018-19 season when Gennaro Gattuso was the head coach.

Not only that, but the interest is mutual as Milan know they need to try and secure a fourth holding midfielder given that Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie will be away for a few games in January because of the African Cup of Nations.

The report adds that technical director Paolo Maldini is preparing an assault for the end of August. After the unilateral renewal triggered by Chelsea – which extended the Frenchman’s contract to 2023 – Bakayoko is just waiting for the two clubs to agree a deal so he can return.

It is likely to be an end of the market operation on the basis of a loan with the option to buy set at €10-12m, which could be the perfect solution to bring all the parties involved to an agreement.
