‘I’m happy’ – Monaco star responds to transfer links with Milan and Napoli

Monaco defender Vanderson has admitted that he is happy to be linked with both AC Milan and Napoli, suggesting he could play in Italy one day.

Admittedly it is a while since Milan were linked with the full-back. Sebastian Denis of Footmercato back in 2021 revealed there was a total agreement between Gremio and AS Monaco for the 20-year-old at around €11m, but he mentioned the Rossoneri had also made a bid.

Given that he is likely someone that the scouting team have followed for a while it cannot be ruled out that he is still on the wish list, especially with Alessandro Florenzi and Davide Calabria both out of contract at the end of the season.

One of the main dangers for Bologna in tonight’s Champions League match against Monaco will be the Brazilian Vanderson, and he spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) ahead of the match at the Stadio Renato dall’Ara.

There has been talk recently about you potentially joining Milan or Napoli…

“I’m happy. It means I’m working in the right way. But I have a long contract here and I’m focused on Monaco.”

Will we see it one day in Serie A?

“I like it a lot and I’ve always followed it because of the many Brazilians, including Kakà. It’s a difficult championship, very tactical, an aspect that I love a lot”.

  1. The Brazilian we needed

Him, Emerson, Theo, Jimenez and Terraciano are fine as fullbacks next season

Midfield depth is the bigger issue Ricci and/or Frendrup are a must.

      1. Fofana and Reijnders can’t play every game.

Bennacer is done, RLC is the least technical player including the GKs, and Musah still needs time, even more Zeroli. If the starters don’t play our midfield is $hit!

Ricci, Frendrup and Vanderson would be game-changers. sub for Theo is the least of our problems…

  2. I will put him as a first priority for Milan. Then,I honestly said that we must have improvement at our defensive phase especially when you face against a big club such as Real Madrid. You know what I mean right?😁

  3. I think OLA AINA can add flair to our team.
He can play on both flanks and besides his contract with Nottingham Forest is going to expire at the end of this season. So it’s a good deal for Milan because he’ll be free and we can divert the budget to other areas of the pitch.
