AC Milan have been reported to be signing a new midfielder regularly in the lead-up to January, and it seems the Rossoneri have made initial steps to add a young talent.
The mid-season mercato is difficult for a handful of reasons, but there are two that stand out above any others. Firstly, there is often a raised price for players, simply due to the time of purchase, and this is especially the case with starting talents.
Additionally, there is the issue of actual talent. A player could have a phenomenal start to a season, but then trail off massively for the other half, if not longer, so this is something that must be considered.
The mercato will not deter Milan though, and they will seemingly make a move for a midfielder in January – given the position, again, looks weak.
Several names have been discussed, but discussions have taken place with an intermediary ‘very close to Reda Belahyane, according to Gazzetta dello Sport. On Wednesday, Geoffrey Moncada held a meeting at Casa Milan with the agent, who has been an interest for the Rossoneri for some time.
Marseille and other clubs from outside Italy are interested, but if the Rossoneri are able to move quickly, then a deal should be possible with a valuation of €12 million.
why go for solid Frendrup who fits Conceicao midfield and would be a perfect sub for Fofana?!
his ancestors must have been huge colonialists, going for French and ex-French colony players only…
Belahyane is a more complete midfielder than Frendrup.
He can press, break up the lindes and is actually comfortable on the ball while also can distribute from deep. He is press resistant, Frendrup is not.
we should go all in on Ricci. With Adli and Pobega doing well both clubs have the right to buy at 12-13m each. The sale of both players and their wages pays for Ricci.
Quoting Cardinale from his Harvard speech:
“…We don’t sell out of necessity, we sell out of opportunism. If we remain disciplined, there will always be counterparties on the market who will allow extraordinary returns for the players.”
That’s why Moncada will not leave and that’s why the likes of Bondo and Belahyane are being pursued. They’re cheap (10 million euros worth players) with potential for extraordinary returns.
Right, because buying expensive players is the right way to go.
How are Koopmeiners and Douglas Luiz expensive transfers working out for Juventus? I hear one of them is most likely already going back to the EPL, and Koopmeiners is the next in line of overrated Atalanta players who flop in another club.
I don’t know what’s your problem and what kind of complexes you are healing fuming at people’s comments and opinions here but where in my comment have you sensed I am pro-expensive players? If anything I’ve always been against overspending. I have nothing against buying 20 millions worth players. My problem is buying for the sake of resale potential instead of building a team for a long term success.
Go outside a bit, you clearly lack oxygen.
Ha ha ha.
Can you please tell us which player has been purchased for the sake of resale potential instead of for a building a team?
Since 2017, when Elliott and now RedBird have been in charge of Milan, only Hauge and Tonali were sold for more than they were bought. Milan lhave literally lost a lot more players for nothing than actually sold, but don’t let that stop you from lying to yourself and people silly enough to believe your nonsense.
You should figure out what complexes you are trying to heal by constantly pushing narratives that are detached from reality instead of projecting your reality on others.
Man you’ve got serious issues with denial, when I just gave you the quote where he was asked about the sale of Tonali. Keep lying to yourself, maybe this quote will magically vanish.
Come on you should know no one is asking for crazy spending, but get the riccis the edersons the buongiornos we can’t keep going the cheap route it will backfire on us soon enough
Exactly. You can’t take fans like that seriously. They are the same tools that say we could have got Enzo Fernandez cheaply.
Quoting Cardinale from a speech about business to a non-footballing audience. Add context to the list of things you don’t understand.
Context? Pardon my French but are you dumb? I just quoted his statement when asked about the sale of Tonali. What more do you need? Get a grip on yourself
When you set it against CDK and Chuk money, all of a sudden it doesn’t seem like a bad idea. LOL!!!
The discussion was at Harvard Business school, so the context was from a business perspective, and using the sale of a player who would be banned for a year to prove your non-existent point makes you look even more desperate than usual. You would have to be a special kind of stupid not to congratulate the club for a fantastic piece of business.
I’m sure you’re one of the so called fans who were complaining about Kessie, Donnaruma and Hakan leaving for nothing and I’m also sure you were adamant that we would lose Leao for nothing. You’re not a fan, you’re toxic. There is no evidence whatsoever to support your capital gain theory. What has happened is when players have gone on to become successful, they haven’t been sold, rather they have been rewarded with new contracts. That was the case with Leao, who I’m sure you ‘guaranteed’ would leave for nothing, and Gabbia. Mike, Pulisic and Theo are also apparently close to news deals.
What you don’t seem to understand, which shows how staggeringly naïve you are, is that all clubs sign players for small fees, they’re called squad players, and when they leave, they generally don’t leave for a significant profit, nor were they signed for that reason. You would have an argument had RedBird been signing players for €1-2 million and then selling them for €10-20 million, but that doesn’t and hasn’t happened.
Yes exactly, discussion was from a business perspective. Isn’t that why Cardinale bought the club? I cannot believe I have to repeat that again. The owner himself gave you an anwser right there, why are you in denial? Is that how you cope when you feel threatened?
You want to talk about context when your comment right here is nothing but a word salad. You are clearly not able to stick to the fact I gave you and so you’re jumping from “I’m sure you’re one of the so called fans who were complaining about Kessie, Donnaruma and Hakan leaving for nothing” to “all clubs sign players for small fees, they’re called squad players, and when they leave, they generally don’t leave for a significant profit” and calling me not a fan but just toxic. Really? Such a weak defensive mechanism? Like I said, lie to yourself but that statement of the greasy Gerry won’t go away.
He was addressing a business school. He was ASKED about the Tonali sale. He didn’t bring it up. What do you expect him to say? We knew Tonali had a gambling problem so jumped at the chance to sell him? They obviously knew and had Tonali stayed and been banned while at Milan, you would have complained that he wasn’t sold, because that’s the type of hypocrite you are.
The point you miss is the money was reinvested in the squad, all of it and more, which puts paid to your capital gain fantasy. The club had an opportunity to turn a massive profit on Thiaw, they didn’t.
You most certainly were one of the toxic fans whining about losing players for nothing and you guaranteed Leao would leave for nothing. You’re a racist. It doesn’t matter what the owners do, Elliot or Redbird, you find fault because you’re not a true fan, you’re only interested in pushing your anti American agenda.
“We knew Tonali had a gambling problem so jumped at the chance to sell him? They obviously knew and had Tonali stayed and been banned while at Milan, you would have complained that he wasn’t sold, because that’s the type of hypocrite you are”
Again, word salad and assumptions as usually from you. Where does it say they knew about Tonali? A made up story from you. Show me report stating the knew.
“The point you miss is the money was reinvested in the squad, all of it and more, which puts paid to your capital gain fantasy. The club had an opportunity to turn a massive profit on Thiaw, they didn’t.”
Reinvested poorly, from the money spent (which is 40 millions net) they only got us Puli and Reijnders who turn our to be added value. More like reinwasted. The club had opportunity to make profit of Thiaw? Another made up story from your imagination. Show me report stating it was almost a done deal.
“You most certainly were one of the toxic fans whining about losing players for nothing and you guaranteed Leao would leave for nothing. You’re a racist. It doesn’t matter what the owners do, Elliot or Redbird, you find fault because you’re not a true fan, you’re only interested in pushing your anti American agenda.”
Bro you need to stop with this panic mode where you are making stuff up in your messed up head, this looks to be serious issue you have. Racist? Sure, me and 80% of the fanbase who are against this ownership, which is evident from the protests. And where do you see me push anti-American agenda? Another made up stuff in your schizo head. Now you’ve added victimisation too. Get a help man.
Signing this midget is a terrible idea.
Milan should buy this Reda Belahyane cause his the perfect player that we need right now, he can replace either tijjani reignders and fofana cause he as the bothe attribute and his not expensive, if team like Torino sign him we will end up buying him for 100 million euros…he his a good and complete player that will fit in any team philosophy.
