Montpellier striker makes declaration over future as Milan open talks over summer deal

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are in talks over a potential deal for Elye Wahi but the striker has suggested that he would like to stay in Ligue 1.

According to what was stated by L’Equipe (via TMW), Milan have in recent days held talks with Montpellier to learn the asking price of the 20-year-old, who has 13 goals and 5 assists in Ligue 1 this season.

However, there are two clubs who are providing competition to sign the young forward: Eintracht Frankfurt and Monaco. It seems as though the latter could have the advantage, especially after what the player said regarding his future.

Wahi spoke to the microphones of France Blue Herault about what might come in the summer and whether he would like a move abroad.

“Favourite league? Ligue 1. Why not? I have always said that I don’t want to skip any steps and I want to go forward step by step. We’ll see what offers there are, but at the moment I’m fine at Montpellier. We’ll see where the wind takes me,” he said.
