TMW: Monza aiming to tie up deal for Daniel Maldini as Spezia loan could be cut short

By Oliver Fisher -

Daniel Maldini is reportedly close to terminating his time with Spezia and joining Monza on a new loan deal, a report claims.

According to TMW, the future of Maldini could well change as early as January given that he has so far had little playing time with Spezia since joining them in the summer, though he did score against the Rossoneri at San Siro earlier in the campaign.

The report claims that the lack of playing time that the 21-year-old is getting could alter the plans and Monza are close to securing the arrival of the playmaker. The Brianza could sign him on loan with an option to buy from Milan.

Daniel Maldini only has five league appearances so far as Luca Gotti has never really made him a fixture of his starting line-up, while the Milan youth sector product has one goal in one appearance in the Coppa Italia.

There is a reason why he isn’t getting playing time. He isn’t good enough. Can’t even get a playing time in lowly Spezia.

    1. Funny how Daniel scored a pretty nice goal against us in the Spezia game earlier in the season. Spezia also play in a 3-5-2, which blocks Daniel from playing in one of his two preferred positions, that is LW or CAM. Monza play a 3-4-2-1, which may allow him to play in a hybrid of his preferred position, so somewhere in between a wide forward and CAM. Also, Gotti (Spezia manager) is known for his defensive tactics
