Monza rest 10 regular starters for cup game against Udinese in view of Milan trip

By Oliver Fisher -

Monza have made some eye-opening team selections ahead of tonight’s Coppa Italia game against Udinese in view of their trip to face AC Milan on Saturday.

MilanNews writes that there are 10 players who are usually starters for Monza that have been left out of Raffaele Palladino’s squad list for Monza’s game away against Udinese tonight in the Coppa Italia round of 32.

The following players have been left out and presumably preserved for the match against Milan on Saturday: Di Gregorio, Marlon, Caldirola, Pablo Marì, Izzo, Ciurria, Caprari Carlos Augusto, Sensi, Barberis, Pessina, Dany Mota and Gytkjaer.

As mentioned, 10 of the 13 names present in the list above are virtually guaranteed starters for the Lombardy club plus three reserves. It will be interesting to see therefore if their result tonight reflects the decision to rest and rotate, and if it pays off with an intense performance at the San Siro this weekend.

  1. And they still managed to beat Udinese. So either we will be facing a tough match, or Udinese have completely fallen out of rhythm. We’ll see…

    1. I expect a tough match after seeing them today plus rested players. We’ll need to play better than we did vs Verona, thats for sure!

  2. Sucks that we didn’t face these newly promoted teams at the start of the season. Other big teams did and they won comfortably. It won’t be easy for us.

    1. Other big teams have to face each other now. Bigger opportunity for them to drop points. Us on the other hand have easy fixtures.
