Alvaro Morata’s inclusion in the Spanish National Team squad was questionable, and the AC Milan striker could even appear before he is scheduled to return.
It was a guarantee that Morata would miss the clash against Cagliari after suffering a head injury in training. With head injuries, there is always an added level of caution as well, so there were doubts about whether he would be called up to represent his nation.
Luis De La Fuente opted to take the risk and call him up, which baffled Paulo Fonseca due to the protocols surrounding concussions. However, it seems the Milan man could feature before he should return.
This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via Milan News) suggests that the striker has been given a ‘green light’ to stay in the Spanish camp, and whilst UEFA state there should be a 10 day wait between the injury and returning to the pitch, De La Fuente ‘wants no part of it’.
The Spaniard admitted in an interview that he wanted to take part in today’s game, as he had recovered quickly, but there could be things to prevent this out of his own control.
Whatever the outcome is, the Rossoneri will expect the situation to be handled correctly, especially so given the upcoming Juventus challenge.
