AC Milan’s 2-0 win over Fiorentina at San Siro on Sunday extended the lead at the top of the Serie A table to five points for the time being.

Despite not having Ibrahimovic, Leao or Bennacer the Rossoneri managed to secure a comfortable victory thanks to a header from Alessio Romagnoli and a Franck Kessie penalty.

Below are the best stats from the game, courtesy of the club’s official website

➤ Milan has picked up 23 points from the opening nine fixtures of the season, a record for Rossoneri given the timeframe and during the three points for a win era.

➤ The Rossoneri has equalled their record for goals scored in consecutive matches (29), with the previous streak dating back to the 12-month period from December 1972 to December 1973.

➤ Milan has now scored at least two goals for the eleventh game running in Serie A, matching a previous record set from 1958 to 1959.

➤ Since his arrival in 2015-16, Alessio Romagnoli’s tally of headed goals for the Rossoneri in Serie A (three) is second only to Zlatan Ibrahimović (six).

➤ Franck Kessie is only one of three players born after 1/1/1996 to have scored 25 goals in Serie A, alongside Lautaro Martínez and Federico Chiesa.

➤ Davide Calabria has now made 100 appearances in Serie A, while Sunday also saw Ante Rebić play his 50th match in Italy’s top tier.
