It looks like Alex Jimenez will be one of the starters for AC Milan against Genoa tomorrow. According to a journalist, he is ‘95%’ certain to start for the Rossoneri, as also fueled by the comments of Paulo Fonseca.
Given the rumours in the last few days, Fonseca was asked about starting youngsters during his press conference earlier today. He made it clear that they started the Futuro project for a reason and that at least one player will be on the pitch tomorrow.
“The Milan Futuro project is important to get youth sector players into the first team. We’ve been working with them since day one. What I can say is that tomorrow we’ll see someone on the pitch,” he stated.
According to Matteo Moretto, responding to a Fonseca quote on X, Jimenez is the player Fonseca was talking about. The Spaniard is ‘95%’ certain to start against the Rossoblu and it should be on the left-hand side of the defence, replacing Theo Hernandez.
Jimenez has been one of the stars for Milan Futuro and he made his debut for the first team last season. He impressed back then as well and many fans have been calling for him to start more, given the recent struggles of Hernandez.
Jiminez is really good, but I feel like Bartesaghi should replace theo instead. Jiminez should play on the right because that is his natural position also he’s way better than Emerson.
agreed. they keep givinig young players “the chance” (terraciano) but keep playing them out of position.
