Ismael Bennacer has been a key player for AC Milan this season and this has attracted the interest of several big clubs, including Liverpool. The Rossoneri, however, are confident that they can renew the contract.
Bennacer’s current deal with the club will expire in 2024 and a pay rise is overdue for him, which is why Milan are in talks over a renewal. According to the reliable Matteo Moretto, the parties have met a few times in recent weeks and the ‘sensations are positive’.
Nothing has been signed, though, and that’s why Liverpool intend to meet the agent of Bennacer before the end of the year and explain the project, per the report. As we know, Bennacer recently changed his agent and is now represented by the late Mino Raiola’s cousin, Enzo.
Liverpool will try to convince the midfielder to change his mind, essentially, as the most concrete and realistic option on the table currently is the renewal with Milan. It will be up to Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara to put an end to the rumours.
Between Bennacer and Leao i have a feeling that Leao has better chances of resigning than Bennacer.
Bennacer never wanted to come to Milan. Empoli owner or director confirmed that in an interview last year when he said that he had to convince Isma to sign with Milan. Also Benny was mostly used as a back up by Pioli especially since Tonali was signed and probably in his mind he is only a starter now because Kessie left and Milan couldn’t sign another midfielder. I don’t think he ever felt appreciated at Milan.
Wouldn’t blame him if he goes to Liverpool. He has always wanted to go back to EPL after his time at Arsenal. Better pay, great coach and ambitious club aiming to win every competition they compete in. Something that Milan isn’t yet.

Liverpool can’t compete with Man City. If Bennacer joins Liverpool, he can kiss goodbye to winning another league title.
Liverpool won the title just 2 years ago after they won the UCL the year before.

Liverpool played in the UCL final last year as well, and were on pace to win all 4 competitions they were in.

It was Empoli’s president who said that he threatened Bennacer to keep him at Empoli in serie B if he didn’t sign for Milan. Bennacer wanted to go to Lyon.
But people will tell you it was when Bennacer heard Maldini’s voice on the phone that he right away signed for Milan. You know the “when Maldini calls you”.
Just like the case with Ndicka this summer. Milan wanted Ndicka, who had 1 year left on his contract, Frankfurt wanted to sell Ndicka. Milan put an offer, and Frankfurt accepted their offer, but Ndicka told Maldini, “Nah, I’m good”.
The latest rumor has it that he is about to sign as a free agent with Roma.
Clear sign of “needing to up his meds” if he is insane enough to choose Roma over Milan. 😀
