Moretto: Milan in ‘advanced negotiations’ to renew talented goalkeeper’s contract

Lorenzo Torriani is expected to renew his contract with AC Milan, as negotiations are currently at an advanced stage between the parties. For the talented goalkeeper, it will be a well-deserved pay rise.

Few Milan fans knew of Torriani ahead of the summer and more specifically the pre-season tour. However, the 19-year-old was given the chance and impressed in multiple games, including saving two penalties in the penalty shoot-out against Barcelona.

Due to injuries for Mike Maignan and Marco Sportiello, the youngster also got the chance in the 3-1 defeat against Liverpool in the Champions League. The debut in the league is yet to take place but in the meantime, Milan are working on a renewal as per Matteo Moretto.

The negotiations are currently ‘advanced’, as per the journalist, and everything suggests that the parties will reach an agreement. Torriani signed his first professional contract in the summer and since his role has changed since then, a pay rise is indeed expected.

The current deal will expire in 2027 so this is definitely a move to keep the goalkeeper happy and reward him for his efforts. It remains to be seen what the proper plan is, though, as a loan move to another Serie A side could perhaps be good.

  1. This guy is perfect backup GK, he seems to have decent potential, is a youth product etc , until he clamours for regular 1st team football he will be a nice successor for Sportiello’s role.
