Moretto: Milan initiate battle with Juventus over Bournemouth defender

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan have identified Lloyd Kelly as one of their primary targets for the defence, a report claims. The Rossoneri have already initiated the battle with Juventus, who also are monitoring the player’s situation.

Kelly’s contract with Bournemouth will expire at the end of the season and Milan had been keeping an eye on him for the summer. However, due to the injuries of Pierre Kalulu and Marco Pellegrino, they are ready to move already in January.

According to Matteo Moretto, Milan have opened talks with the entourage of Kelly and this could result in a January offer. Kelly has already played with the Rossoneri star Fikayo Tomori, partnering up with him for the England U21s.

Juventus are also interested in the Englishman, as added by Moretto, and a battle is now underway between the two league rivals. The 25-year-old has made six appearances for Bournemouth in the Premier League this season, including the games against Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham.

In addition to Kelly, Milan are also keeping tabs on Montpellier youngster Maxime Esteve, who has been linked with the club for many years now.
