Yunus Musah is not giving up on AC Milan’s Scudetto hopes despite the damaging 2-0 defeat to Napoli at San Siro last night.
Milan suffered a big blow to any title dreams they might still harbour during last night’s loss to the league-leaders. Both of the goals came in the first half for the visitors as Romelu Lukaku got the opener early on and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia doubled the advantage just before the break.
Alvaro Morata’s offside goal was the closest that the Rossoneri got to putting a dent in Napoli’s lead as the saw out the second half with relative comfort, padding out their lead at the top of the table to seven points and leaving Milan 11 behind them.
Musah spoke to Mediaset after the full-time whistle to analyse what was a difficult night for the team but trying to pick out the positives, with his words coming via MilanNews.
How do you assess the defeat?
“Against these teams you have to take advantage of the chances, they did it with the few they had, while we didn’t do it with the many we had.”
There were more defensive errors on show…
“We have to be more aggressive in those situations. On Kvara’s goal we shouldn’t have let them in so easily, but it was a great goal anyway. They were good at taking advantage of the few chances they had.”
Is the Scudetto dream already gone?
“Now we are in November, there is still a long way to go in the season. We are still optimistic because there are so many games to go. We are fighting and will always fight until the end.”
Several players will return against Monza…
“The more players are available the better, so we are all united together on the pitch to fight.”
Leao is in and out of the team…
“Rafa is a great player, at the moment he is doing some rotation with Okafor. I’m not the coach, we’ll see.”
The same guy after the Parma game admitted confusion as to what he was supposed to do on the pitch. Pretty optimistic for sure.
Just put the fries in the bag bro…
Sorry, but when I see how Musah players, I can’t be optimistic so I really don’t care if he thinks that we’re still title contenders.
I was a big proponent of Musah last year because I though he had a lot of potential. And I still think that. But he has to start showing it or we need to loan/ship him out.
We have 0 Reijnders or Fofana alternatives. I’m waiting for the Frenchie to pull something then we’ll really start leaking goals.
