GdS: Nasti becomes the jewel of Milan’s academy – Juve’s bid and the Rossoneri’s plans

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are enjoying the exploits of young striker Marco Nasti who continues to impress for the Primavera with an eye to the future, a report claims.

La Gazzetta dello Sport talks about Nasti in detail and in particular his breakout season in the Primavera, for whom he has scored 11 goals in 12 games in the league this season, plus another couple of goals in the UEFA Youth League and the cup too.

He leads the scoring charts at the moment ahead of Ambrosino of Napoli, Beso of Genoa, Chibozo of Juve and Di Stefano of Sampdoria and has now earned the title of ‘jewel of the Milan academy’ having been part of the Rossoneri’s set-up since the beginning of his footballing career.

Currently Nasti is behind Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Olivier Giroud and January signing Marko Lazetic in the pecking order but this allows him to grow quietly behind the trio. The 18-year-old has a contract expiring in 2023, and Milan are planning to lock him up until 2025 after Juventus bid €500k for him while Cremonese and Ternana came in for a loan.

Nasti has already trained several times with the first team having watched Ibra’s movements first hand, listening to Pioli for tips and studying the secrets of those who have been there for some time such as Rafael Leao.

He is a centre-forward who is reminiscent of Patrik Schick and André Silva in his movements given that he plays on the offside line and is a good finisher, while his 3 assists show that he is also good at holding the ball up. Nasti is not yet ready for a first team role, but he is certainly a talent to keep an eye on.

  1. Colombo may never make it to the first team so why should I be optimistic about this guy? I think it’d be nasty to think Nasti will someday play for the first team as we’re more likely to see Cristiano Ronaldo at 42 playing for this team than we re to see Nasti playing sometime in the future. Probably a good capital gain.
