Sky: €30m offer and €20m fine – latest on Leao’s renewal as PSG and Chelsea circle

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan winger Rafael Leao is attracting the interest of top European clubs but the club are still optimistic about keeping him, a report claims.

Sky report that Leao continues to be courted by top European clubs, Chelsea and PSG above all, and the winger has asked for a hefty pay rise in order to help him repay the €20m fine owed to former club Sporting CP.

Milan have offered €6m net per season for a five-year extension – therefore a deal worth €30m – but Leao would like many more because a good part of his proceeds would then be sent over to Sporting.

If the problem with Sporting did not exist, Leao would gladly stay with the Rossoneri because he is aware that he is at the centre of the project and that he would be the absolute protagonist in the future, but Milan cannot offer him what he would earn in London or Paris.

Paolo Maldini continues to trust in a positive outcome of the situation, and he wants to talk again to convince him and find the right terms. He knows that the renewal of Leao represents the absolute priority of the Milan market to avoid having to listen to proposals that will come from all over Europe.

  1. I still don’t understand why he was fined. He was attacked at training by sporting supporters. That’s fked and a travesty…
