AC Milan have officially confirmed the departures of Tiemoue Bakayoko and Sergino Dest after their loan deals ran out.
Bakayoko came back to Milan in the summer of 2021 on a two-year loan deal from Chelsea having previously had a positive spell in the 2018-19 campaign under Gennaro Gattuso, but his second chapter at the club did not go to plan.
He was very rarely used by Stefano Pioli who saw fit to put other midfield options first, and thus by the end of the previous season it became obvious there was no chance of the loan becoming permanent or being extended.
Dest meanwhile came on a season-long loan from Barcelona not long after Alessandro Florenzi suffered a long-term muscle injury. While he was always expected to provide emergency cover and nothing more, Pioli really didn’t put much faith in the USA international who made just eight league appearances in the end.

Dest won’t be remembered but Bakayoko put some good shifts in for the club over the years and I felt he was a bit screwed over by the formula of his loan (obligatory transfer if he made enough appearances). There’s a good player in there but shame we’ll likely never see the best of it.
Tiemoue Bakayoko all he cared once he went to Chelsea was getting the 7 mil / year salary. Now that he is without a club none want him as all know is just loose money. He is good, just doesn’t care.
I rather see( the ball hits the side of a brick player) Popega than him
