Official: AC Milan vs. Lazio starting XIs – five changes from Cagliari win

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has made multiple changes to his starting line-up for the game against Lazio compared to the team that beat Cagliari in midweek.

There are three alterations to the rearguard with Mike Maignan getting his spot back between the posts replacing Marco Sportiello, while Davide Calabria and Simon Kjaer come into the back four for Alessandro Florenzi and Malick Thiaw.

Fikayo Tomori and Theo Hernandez keep their spots to complete the back four, while the midfield is the only untouched section as Yacine Adli, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tijjani Reijnders all get the nod.

Olivier Giroud – celebrating his 37th birthday – is back in the front three as is Rafael Leao, with Christian Pulisic completing the attacking trident.

Official Milan XI (4-3-3): Maignan; Calabria, Kjaer, Tomori, Theo; Loftus-Cheek, Adli, Reijnders; Pulisic, Giroud, Leao.

Bench: Mirante, Sportiello; Bartesaghi, Florenzi, Pellegrino, Thiaw; Musah, Pobega, Romero; Chukwueze, Jovic, Okafor.

  1. Adli starts. Nice. For a moment I thought Pooli was going to pull the old Pioli and bench him lol
Let’s see what he’s able to do. Hoping he plays more secure and defends properly

  2. Calabria is a liability in the back. Giroud has been awful. Florenzi in, okafor in and Chuckweze in. Out with Giroud, Calabria and Pulisic and their we go.
