Serie A Femminile recently released the upcoming calendar for the 2022-23 season and AC Milan Women will face a tough early test as they face Fiorentina in their first match on either August 27th or 28th.
They’ll then face rivals AS Roma the week after. The two matches will see the Rossonere face off against a few of their former players, including Verónica Boquete, and Valentina Giacinti.
The team recently faced off against Como in a friendly match that they won 2-0. Linda Tucceri Cimini was the captain of Milan for that game, which was quite fitting, considering that she signed a contract renewal with the team until 2024.
Selena Babb, Guðný Árnadóttir, and Noemi Fedele have also signed renewals for another two years.
Before the season starts, however, the team will fly to Kentucky to participate in the upcoming WICC. The friendly tournament will take place between August 14th – 20th and will be a welcome test for Milan before the new season starts.
The Rossonere should also have their internationals back by then, including Kosovare Asllani, who is currently on vacation after leading Sweden to the semifinal of the 2022 Euros. Asllani will also be one of the key players that will lead Milan into a new chapter this season.
