  1. Hmm…

On paper, Inter should beat Milan. I hope not, but it looks like they will.

A lot depends on Milan’s new arrivals. Milan’s midfield has been grossly affected by Bennacer’s forced absence due to a long term injury and the subsequent sale of Tonali.

Does Pioli start Pobega alongside Krunic because they are used to his tactics – at least Krunic showed much improvement being able to play in the double pivot alongside Tonali last season. In truth Krunic has being a faithful servant.

The other scenario: does Pioli entrust one of the new arrivals, i.e. Loftus-Cheek alongside Krunic? Who among them dictates the play? Who pushes up? Who drops back to cover?

Third scenario: Does Pioli switch formation to maybe 4-3-3 to accommodate Pobega alongside the aforementioned duo of Krunic and Loftus-Cheek? Or do we get another person like the yet to be signed Reinjders, etc.?

A lot depends on how quick the new players arrive to take part in pre-season, and how fast and well they absorb Pioli’s methods.

The defence looks solid, but if the midfield is porous or weak, it puts unnecessary pressure on the defence and that can be catastrophic.

There’s a whole lot of pressure and this is the times for Pioli to show and prove his mettle. If any of the players does not integrate quickly or well, he has no excuse.

  2. I don’t see my Milan winning any of the first 4 games, maybe lose against inter, juve, draw bologna and a narrow 1 nil Victory with Torino, but lazio and Roma I cannot predict as both coaches may gamble and that might favor Milan
