Empoli have announced that they have completed the signing of Devis Vasquez from AC Milan on a loan with option to buy deal.
On their official website, Empoli Football Club announce that they have reached an agreement with AC Milan for the temporary acquisition, with option right [loan with option to buy], for goalkeeper Devis Estiven Vásquez Llach.
The Colombian goalkeeper was born in Barranquilla on May 12, 1998. He grew up in the youth sector of Cortulua, with whom he participated in the Viareggio Tournament in 2017, La Equidad and Patriotas Boyoca.
In 2020 Devis moved permanently to Guaranì, a club in the Paraguayan top flight. The following year Vásquez made his debut in the Primera Division with Olimpia and in the Copa Libertadores in a game against Royal Pari.
Devis earned a starting spot, playing a season as a starter with 25 games in the league and two in the Copa Libertadores. In January 2023 Vásquez was purchased by Milan who in August sent him on loan to Sheffield Wednesday, in the Championship.
After ten games with the English club, Vasquez returned to Italy where he played as many games in Serie B with Ascoli, totalling five clean sheets. Now, a new adventure in Serie A awaits for him.
