TMW: Milan duo expected to complete loan-with-option moves to Empoli

By Oliver Fisher -

Two AC Milan players are closing in on moves to join Empoli, with Devis Vasquez and Lorenzo Colombo expected to complete switches soon.

According to TMW, the agreements between Milan and Empoli are expected to close for goalkeeper Vasquez and Colombo. Both players will arrive on loan with an option to buy, while for the striker there is the possibility of a buy-back being included in the Rossoneri’s favour.

It was reported just a few days ago that Vasquez was expected to join Serie B side Spezia on a loan with option deal, and then it emerged that Torino had expressed an interest and could offer a chance to stay in the top flight. However, it is Empoli that seem to have convinced him.

Meanwhile, the management needed to find a new loan solution for Colombo who only scored four goals in 25 appearances for Monza this past season, including against the Rossoneri, making it clear he is not ready for a spot at Milan just yet.

At 22 years of age the time is coming for the academy graduate to show that he can thrive in Serie A, but the insertion of a buy-back would show that Milan still have belief in him.
